About the conference
The International Bio-Responsibility Conference is organised under the Bio-Responsibility Initiative at the Centre for Society and Policy (CSP), Indian Institute of Science. The Conference will bring people together to advance dialogue, build partnerships, and promote safe, secure, and responsible life science research and innovation. The Conference will host experts, policymakers and practitioners around the world to discuss emerging biological risks and strengthen responsible governance.
The Conference welcomes participation from all over the world. We invite applications from scientists, policymakers, biosafety, biosecurity, and bioethics practitioners, industry professionals, civil society, and university students.
Conference fee waivers and support for travel and accommodation are provided to deserving candidates on a case-by-case basis.

How to Register
Deadline: 30 September 2026
Kindly thoroughly go through the details before registering. A successful selection for participation will involve three steps.
Step 1—Registration
All applicants are requested to click on one of the eligible links below and fill out and submit the form that requires personal details, theme and abstract, and travel and accommodation details.
(Country categorisation is based on the World Bank data.)
The conference organisers will review the abstract and inform the selected participants.
Note: Initial registration will not confirm your participation. The applicant has to complete all three steps and receive confirmation from the team for participation. Kindly fill in the details very carefully. Any absence of required details will result in automatic rejection. We offer accommodation to selected participants based on merit, diversity, availability of resources, and on a first-come-first-serve basis. Travel support will only be provided to selected participants from Low-and Middle-Income Countries. For limited Indian participants, domestic travel support will be provided on a reimbursement basis. The travel support to international and domestic participants is subject to availability of resources. Registration fee waiver will be provided to limited number of deserving participants.
Step 2—Payment and confirmation
Selected participants will be requested to make payment and confirm their participation. The payment link and method will be provided during the second step. Registration fees for different categories is mentioned below:
Participants from High-Income Countries: USD 200
Participants from Low-and Middle-Income Countries: USD 60
Participants from India: INR 5,000
All international participants will be requested to provide additional information, including passport details.
Step 3—Travel booking, visa support and finalisation
Travel support for selected Indian participants shall be provided on a reimbursement basis, subject to eligibility and the availability of funds.
Selected international participants who require an Indian visa will be provided an official support letter upon request. The option to request the support letter is enclosed with the registration.
For participants from LMICs, where travel support is approved, the organising team will facilitate the booking of the lowest available economy-class return airfare from the participant’s nearest international airport to Bengaluru, subject to the applicable travel support guidelines.

FAQs
Is it possible to attend the conference without presenting?
Yes. Applicants can opt for a non-presenting participant while registering. However, we encourage more applications for poster presentations and lighning talks.
Who is eligible to receive travel support? What is the process?
We will be providing travel support to a limited number of eligible candidates from LMICs and India. For Indian participants, travel support will be provided on a reimbursement basis. For participants from LMICs, the lowest economy-class return ticket will be booked between Bangalore and the nearest airport to their residence. The eligibility for travel support will be decided by the organising team based on the information provided in the registration form.
Is there an option for fee waiver?
An option for a fee waiver is available for applicants from LMICs and India. It will be provided to the most deserving applicants. The application for a fee waiver is enclosed within the registration.
Is accommodation provided?
Accommodation requests are open to all participants, irrespective of nationality. However, due to the availability of limited resources, accommodation will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis.
What is the selection criteria for poster presentation and lighting talk?
Participants will be selected based on an evaluation of their abstracts and the relevance of their academic or professional backgrounds to the Conference objectives. Submitted abstracts should clearly align with at least one of the Conference’s six thematic areas.
Will visa support letter be provided?
A visa support letter will be provided to international participants who require it. The request option for the letter is enclosed with the registration.
